At Applied Imagination we've developed a five phase process that has proven to be highly effective in designing and delivering media projects for a variety of client needs.

Phase 1 - definition
In phase 1 we define the underlying premises on which the entire project is based, foremost of which is determining the objectives of the project and who is the intended audience. Once these two basic facts are determined, we can then define the information content and the mediums, or domains, we want to use to deliver that information.

Phase 2 - design
In phase 2 we design the information architecture. Based on the delivery domains, information is categorized, prioritized and mapped from the clients goals and objectives to the messages and experiences intended for the audience. As with physical architecture, form follows function, and this information architecture now acts as the blueprint on which the "look and feel" of the project is built.

Phase 3 - creation
This is the phase in which much of the actual "hands-on" work is done. Based on the criteria determined in phases one and two, the project takes shape in the form of images and graphics, words and programming, sounds and movement. It is the domain in which both our creative and technical teams work together to build and test the project.

Phase 4 - implementation
Phase 4 is where the "rubber meets the road." The Web site goes online, the CD-ROM is taken for a spin, the video is premiered - the audience experiences and interacts with the project. Of course, before any of this has taken place, the project has been thoroughly tested, improved, and revised as necessary. Most importantly, the client is thoroughly satisfied before we "throw the switch."

Phase 5 - evaluation & revision
Many media service companies consider their job done after the project is implemented. At AI we go beyond that and help our clients determine if their goals and objectives have been achieved. In addition, in today's fast paced digital world, ongoing change and revision is often necessary after a project has been implemented. This is especially true of new media projects such as Websites, which require ongoing "care and feeding." Fortunately, our integrated digital approach enables us to rapidly change and revise our work for clients whenever necessary.
